Symposium on Pain & Alcohol

Join your anesthesiology and pain medicine colleagues at the Symposium on Pain & Alcohol (SPA), a satellite meeting of the 2024 Research Society on Alcohol (RSA) Conference. The theme for this year's meeting is, "Bridging preclinical and clinical/translational research on alcohol and pain."

The Department of Anesthesiology's Dr. Jeff Boissoneault is co-organizing the meeting with Dr. Ryan Carpenter from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The goal of SPA is to provide a meeting place for the growing alcohol and pain research community and to increase opportunities for new collaborations. Anyone interested in learning more about how pain may intersect with alcohol use is welcome to attend.
