The University of Minnesota recently received funding from the National Institute on Aging for a project lead by Rui Zhang, PhD. The aim of project, titled “Detecting synergistic effects of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for AD/ADRD,” is to develop informatics approaches that can be used to examine the effects of different drug and non-pharmacological interventions on Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia (AD/ADRD). These approaches will draw from a variety of data sources like biomedical literature, EHRs, and clinical trials and will be validated by animal models. The data will be used to rank individual and synergistic interventions for AD/ADRD.
