Why I chose the University of Minnesota Medical School

I'm a Minnesota native, growing up in the East Side of Saint Paul. In college, I studied stem cell biology with a minor in the visual arts and emphasis on photography. My wife and I enjoy exploring new neighborhoods through the local cuisine and taking photos along the way. I'm also a dog dad to a Yorkie-Poo and Toy Australian Shepherd. The diversity of people and clinical training opportunities I would receive as a student made the UMN Medical School the place I'd want to be. For me, I've had nothing but positive experiences from my fellow colleagues and the administration in any concern I had. Moreover, I appreciate how receptive the school administration is to student feedback for continued improvement in overall medical education and clinical training experience. I'm happy to answer any general questions about life in medical school, transitioning from undergraduate education to professional training, balancing work and life to maintain wellbeing to more specific questions as my experiences living in one of the medical fraternities or pursuing surgical subspecialty aspirations.
