Why I chose the University of Minnesota Medical School

I have a big family and they are everything to me, I love dogs (especially big ones), I love being outdoors (especially on the water, and especially water skiing) and I also enjoy crime shows/podcasts and reading (especially historical fiction). I have always enjoyed science but have also always been passionate about all of the factors outside of biology and physiology that influence people's health. I wanted to come to UMN Medical School because I wanted to be part of an institution that is bigger than itself - UMN extends into our surrounding communities to try and improve all of our health through innovative solutions, trailblazing research, and compassionate support. The people I met at my interview day were genuine and I felt right at home. I am proud to be a UMN student! Beyond general questions, I'm happy to answer questions about: I would be happy to answer any questions you may have but things unique to my experience that come to mind are - taking a gap year to work in a lab as a phlebotomist, non-science major (Medical Anthropology), first two years in Duluth, part of the new Hybrid program (3rd year core rotations at Hennepin Healthcare)
