Salil is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He works with Dr. Matthew Slattery and Dr. Yi-Mei Yang. In his research, Salil is trying to understand how acute/chronic stress during various stages of development alters gene expression in the mouse brain and leads to disease. He integrates gene expression data with electrophysiology and mouse behavior to understand the stress response. He received his Ph.D. from the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, India for his work on the role of histone demethylases in stress-induced depression.
