Research

Research Summary/Interests

Dr. Chan’s research focus is to understand the molecular mechanisms regulated by the kidney master transcription factor, HNF1B, during disease development. He is interested in investigating mutations and deletions of HNF1B associated with cystic kidney disease, autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease and prostate cancer. The long-term goal is to develop new targeted therapeutic approaches for the treatment of cystic kidney disease and other HNF1B-related diseases.
