M.D., Siberian State Medical University. Tomsk, Russia (Medicine/Molecular Biology)

PhD, Siberian State Medical University and Research Institute of Pharmacology. Tomsk, Russia (Pathophysiology)

Postdoctoral Training, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Birmingham, AL. (Division of Human Gene Therapy) - Mentor: Dr. M. Yamamoto

Dr. Davydova's primary interest lies in the development of new oncolytic-virus based therapeutic and imaging modalities for pancreatic cancer, combination of oncolytic virus with immunotherapy and/or chemo-radiation to establish effective therapies for treatment-resistant cancer, and development of in vivo cancer models.

She received her M.D. and Ph.D. in Pathophysiology from the Siberian State Medical University in Tomsk, Russia. After teaching as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer/Docent in the Biomedical Department at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, she came to the U.S. to pursue her research interest in cancer gene therapy.

In 2000, she joined the Gene Therapy Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and obtained extensive training in adenoviral vector-based gene therapy at Curiel’s group. As a member of the UAB Division of Human Gene Therap she was directly involved in the development of new generations of Conditionally Replicative Adenoviruses (CRAds) for malignant diseases. Her contribution resulted in developing critical elements to improve infectivity and specificity of oncolytic virus therapy and led to significant advances of the utility of adenoviral vectors for various applications of human gene therapy.

In 2006 she joined the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She has attained invaluable experience in developing new therapeutic and imaging strategies for pancreatic cancer. Dr. Davydova actively expands virus-based gene delivery technologies via collaborations in varying clinical applications including cancer and stem cell, regenerative medicine, bone biology, mucosal immunity, diabetes, pancreatitis, and peptide hormone research
