Why I chose Minnesota: The University of Minnesota General Surgery (Rural) program is the perfect hybrid of an early academic, quaternary care clinical experience coupled with chief resident level "bread and butter" community general surgery. With two main locations (Twin Cities and Duluth), this rural surgery program is logistically and clinically the best program that I researched to provide the training I need to comfortably enter practice in any setting.
