Summary

Dr. Sudel joined the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Minnesota in 2007. He completed his fellowship at the Brown and Northwestern Universities. During his thirteen years on faculty, he has striven to improve patient care, especially within his area of expertise: pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He established the University of Minnesota Pediatric IBD Center and, along with nine other centers around the country, established a Pediatric IBD Network for clinical research and improvement. This network has become known as Improve Care Now (ICN) and has since grown into the largest force in quality improvement for pediatric IBD patient care not only in the USA, but in the world—a network of 109 centers working together to improve quality and innovate in pediatric IBD care. In addition to IBD, his interests include endoscopic and manometry procedures. During his academic career, he has participated in multiple clinical studies and collaboratives. He also enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows.
