Research Summary/Interests

Improving treatments for persons with Borderline Personality Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and related conditions, using Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Current research in the use of an Interpersonal Forgiveness model.

Teaching Areas

Dr. Long trains Psychiatry residents, interns, and practicum students how to more effectively treat persons with Borderline Personality Disorder, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and other difficult-to-treat conditions, with a focus on training the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy to national standards. She supervises in the Psychiatry Clinic and supervises residents on therapy rotations.
