Summary
I received my BA in Biology from Sonoma State University, CA, graduating cum laude. I graduated from medical school from the Medical School of Wisconsin, WI. I completed an internship in internal medicine from Hennepin County Medical Center. I further completed an externship in pathology, and my residency in psychiatry here at the University of Minnesota. I am a psychiatrist with expertise in general adult and cross-cultural psychiatry. My care and clinical interests include psychiatric care of medically ill adults in an outpatient setting, psychiatric consultation in a primary care setting, rapid access and brief treatments. I see patients in the University of Minnesota Health West Building Psychiatry Clinic. I hold faculty appointments as an assistant professor in the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and serve as medical director for the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Outpatient Clinic. I was selected as ‘Psychiatrist of the Year’ from the Minnesota Psychiatric Society in 2017. I have been included in the Top Doctors in Psychiatry from Minnesota Monthly Magazine in 2019. Within the department, I have been named “Teacher of the Year” (third year residency class) in 2003, 2004, and from 2006-2018.
