Summary

After obtaining his medical degree from JN Medical College in India, Dr. Goswami pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Jason Chesney, MD PhD at the Brown Cancer Center of University of Louisville in Kentucky. Following this, he moved to Minneapolis to join the internal medicine residency training program at the Hennepin County Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship training in sleep medicine. After this, he completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine before joining the faculty of the division of pulmonary, allergy, critical care and sleep medicine at the University of Minnesota as an assistant professor of medicine. Dr. Goswami specializes in the care of adult patients suffering from various sleep disorders and in care of patients before and after lung transplantation.

Research

Research Summary/Interests

Dr. Goswami’s research interests include studying the pathophysiology of sleep related breathing disorders and their affect on outcomes in certain special patient populations. He is also interested in studying the factors that affect outcomes of patients who undergo lung transplantation for various medical conditions resulting in end stage lung disease.
