Jeff Ansite is currently a Technical Consultant with the Schulze Diabetes Institute. He began working for Dr. David Sutherland in the Department of Surgery in 1992 in the area of rodent islet isolation and transplantation. He transitioned to working under the direction of Dr. Bernhard Hering after the Diabetes Institute was established in 1995. Mr. Ansite helped establish the human islet isolation program at the Minnesota Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics Facility and is currently helping head the large animal islet isolation core under the direction of Josh Wilhelm. Mr. Ansite has participated in more than 300 human and 600 large animal islet isolations. In addition, he helped established the master batch production records, standard operating procedures, and forms used in the manufacture of both human and large animal islets.
