Summary

Dr. Nanno comes to SDI as a transplant surgeon at Kobe University in Japan, with experience in studying the transplanted organ. Dr. Nanno is a member of the Cellular Manufacturing Core, while his research interest focuses on developing a greater understanding of the relationship between the graft environment and tolerance. He currently collaborates with Dr. Ramachandran to identify in a large animal model the populations of T- and B-cell infiltrates post-allo- and xeno-islet transplants. He is also responsible for assessing the immunological effects of apoptotic donor leukocyte (ADL) vaccination on the immune system.
