Kudos to Drs. Liu and Heck for their new publication!
Drs. Yu Liu and Detlef Heck co-authored a new research paper in the journal Nature Communications, titled “Cerebellar output neurons can impair non-motor behaviors by altering development of extracerebellar connectivity.“
Drs. Heck and Liu and colleagues discovered that removing cerebellar output neurons early in brain development causes less harm to brain function than having neurons that survive but function abnormally due to mutations associated with autism spectrum disorder.
Dr. Yu Liu is a neuroscience researcher in the Heck Lab. Learn more about his research interest. Dr. Detlef Heck is the Department Head and Professor in the Biomedical Sciences at the Medical School, Duluth Campus. He has over 30 years of experience in neuroscience research.
