UMN CVM RIDE Seminar Series - One Health Panel 11/20
The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) in the Twin Cities hosted a seminar titled "Crucial Conversations: Climate Change and One Health" on November 20, 2024, as part of its CVM RIDE Seminar Series.
- Dr. Kent Reed moderated the panel, which included:
- Dr. Alexandra Zachwieja, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Medical School, Duluth campus. She is a biological anthropologist, species distribution modeler, and National Geographic Explorer. Her research focuses on how climate change affects human mobility, access to resources, interactions with other species, and health. She studies these impacts over large timescales and has worked on climate change and human evolution in Southeast Asia, as well as current climate change health risks in permafrost regions.
- Dr. Matthew Aliota, Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences (VBS).
- Dr. Kyle X. Hill, Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
