Science, and all that jazz
Kanishk Jain, a new faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota, balances his academic career with a deep passion for jazz music. By day, he's a dedicated researcher in enzymology and epigenetics, studying how histone modifications regulate gene expression. Outside of the lab, Jain is an accomplished jazz clarinet and saxophone player, a lover of houseplants, and an enthusiast of fountain pens. His diverse interests help him stay grounded amid the challenges of scientific research.
