Cutting-edge research, clinical insights, and fellow achievements took center stage at the University of Minnesota–Mayo Clinic Infectious Diseases Fellows Forum, held Saturday, April 26 at the Graduate Hotel in Minneapolis. Centered on the theme of tropical and travel medicine, the annual event reaffirmed the long-standing partnership between the two institutions in shaping future leaders in infectious diseases.

Dr. Hallowell received the prestigious Research Excellence Award, while Dr. Nuriev won the Mystery Case Challenge, showcasing the forum’s emphasis on innovation and clinical problem-solving. Fellows also presented posters on impactful topics such as antimicrobial stewardship strategies, chronic infection screening in immigrant cancer patients, and disparities in antibiotic timeliness in pediatric emergency care.
