Paul's research focuses on the construction and development of a compact, desktop MRI pO2 scanner for making non-invasive, in-vivo oxygen measurements within islet macro-encapsulation devices. This work is a collaborative effort between multiple investigators whose combined expertise spans Halbach magnet construction, FPGA spectrometer fabrication, novel accelerated MRI methods development, and islet macroencapsulation technology.
