Health Research Seminar Series
PHDR invites you to join us at our monthly Health rEsearch Seminar Series (HESS), co-sponsored by our C2DREAM Center! The seminars provide a platform for academics and community members engaged in health disparities research and/or programming to present their work. The dates vary from month to month but are usually the 2nd Tuesday (Sep - Jun).
Our upcoming seminar, “The Reproductive Health Consequences of Criminal Legal System Involvement,” will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at 12:00 - 1:00 pm CT. J’Mag Karbeah, PhD, MPH will be presenting. This seminar is co-sponsored by the Health Equity Work Group at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
In this presentation, Dr. Karbeah will present findings from her analyses of the Future of Families Child and Wellbeing Study, a modern birth cohort study of nearly 5,000 children born between 1998 and 2000 in 20 large US cities. The findings examine the reproductive health impacts of both direct and indirect exposure to the criminal legal system, including parental incarceration and youth police stops. We invite you to join us to explore this critical topic in greater depth.
Registration required. All are welcome!
Location: Zoom **Seminars are held virtually.
