The University of Minnesota Medical School is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Organoid Symposium to be held April 9th in Rochester. Registration is free via this form. You can reserve a room at the Hilton at discounted rates before March 19th.

The Symposium, which is hosted by the University and Mayo Clinic, will take place in Dr. John Noseworthy Hall at the Hilton Hotel. Attendees will learn about recent advancements in organoid and microphysiologic systems and how they can create new technologies that improve patient care. There will also be presentations and exhibits from experts and student poster sessions

Brenda Ogle


Dr. Brenda Ogle, Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and lead organizer for the event, stated that “this symposium reflects the strength of the partnership between the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota to support organoid scientific development and researcher access.”

Dr. Ogle believes the special guests and diverse subject matter will create a productive evening. “We have an outstanding lineup of speakers with plenty of time to view new work, establish new collaborations, and foster team science. We welcome investigators from all disciplines to come and be a part of this burgeoning field,” she stated.

Keynote speakers will include Dr. Sarah Heilshorn of Stanford University and Dr. Alysson Muotri of the University of California San Diego. Dr. Heilshorn will discuss Hydrogels and 3D Printing, and Dr. Muotri will talk about Human Brain Organoids and their applications to therapeutic testing and development.
