In October 2025, Bryce Binstadt, MD, PhD,began a two-year term as President of the Rheumatology Research Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to advance research and training to improve the health of people living with rheumatic disease.

The Foundation is guided by a diverse group of members from across the rheumatology community, including private practitioners, academic investigators, health professionals, corporate representatives, and public members. It is the largest private funder of rheumatology research and training programs in the United States.

Through its grant programs, the Foundation supports education and training for medical and graduate students, residents, fellows, physicians, and health professionals. It also funds research across a wide range of rheumatic diseases, including gout, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondylarthropathies, systemic sclerosis, and vasculitis.
