We are delighted to announce that Dr. Sean Tracy, MD, PhD, a faculty member at the University of Minnesota and a former mentee of Dr. Mike Farrar, has been selected as a 2026 ASH Basic/Translational Research Junior Faculty Scholar. This prestigious award from the American Society of Hematology (ASH) recognizes outstanding early-career researchers in hematology and supports the transition to an independent research career.
Dr. Tracy graduated from the combined MD/PhD program at Tufts University, earning his PhD in Immunology, where his research focused on the basic biology of Epstein-Barr Virus. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, studying clinical outcomes in patients with lymphoma, and then pursued a fellowship in Hematology, Oncology, and Transplantation at the University of Minnesota. Selected for the T32 academic research track, he developed an independent research program investigating mechanisms of immune escape by leukemias and lymphomas, with a particular focus on acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Dr. Tracy joined the University of Minnesota faculty in 2021 and has recently established his own laboratory space.

The ASH Basic/Translational Research Junior Faculty Scholar Award supports exceptional early-career hematology researchers and recognizes those with outstanding potential to advance the understanding and treatment of hematologic diseases. This award emphasizes basic research, translational studies, patient-oriented clinical research, and outcomes-based research, reflecting Dr. Tracy's multidisciplinary approach to investigating immune evasion in hematologic malignancies.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Tracy for this well-deserved honor and his ongoing contributions to hematology research and patient care.
