Lin Yee Chen Awarded Distinguished McKnight University Professorship

In recognition of his pioneering research in Atrial Myopathy, the University of Minnesota has awarded LHI Director Lin Yee Chen, MBBS, MS, a Distinguished McKnight University Professor. Demonstrating that the impairment increases stroke and dementia risk, even without AF, Dr. Chen set the foundation for landmark clinical trials testing the efficacy of blood-thinning medications in preventing stroke and dementia in patients with atrial myopathy alone. This marked a major paradigm shift in cardiovascular disease prevention.
