Anesthesiology Faculty Internationally Recognized for Publication

Dr. Richard Prielipp, Dr. Julia Weinkauf and Dr. Thomas Esser co-authored “Falls From the O.R. or Procedure Table” which was recently featured in Le Monde, a prestigious French newspaper. The publication discussed a doctor’s responsibility to keeping their patients safe while under operation.

Going into operation can be nerve-racking for some patients. However, one situation that is rarely thought of is falling off the operation table. This possibility is rarely discussed in medical publications as to not get this idea in many patient’s heads. Because of this, Le Monde applauded our faculty’s publication, stating that it’s about time someone finally talks about this. The honesty of the publication was greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to our faculty for this outstanding accomplishment. We are very proud of their extensive research being recognized by so many.
