To be continued…

Here we go, celebrating a New Year and enduring several days (or weeks) of writing 2020 instead of 2021.

There is a lot of excitement (and a lot of questions) around vaccine distribution. Here are some key points.

  • Best wishes for a brighter, healthier, and more peaceful, New Year!
  • Progress has been very good. Last week M Health Fairview distributed the first 10,000 vaccine doses to healthcare workers per MN Department of Health guidelines for Phase 1a.
  • The logistics of coordinating vaccine distribution across a complex health organization while following state and federal recommendations are staggering. An incredible team is working hard to ensure that we protect our clinical providers, learners, and staff as quickly as possible.
  • Right now we only release vaccine availability information once it is confirmed. We understand the need to know dates, numbers of doses, and locations, but the situation is extremely fluid. You deserve accurate information, not guesswork.

Continue to take care of each other. Beginning to have the vaccine available is wonderful, but there are difficult days still ahead. Everyone has a role―whether it is working from home, caring for COVID-19 patients in the hospital, doing our best to stay healthy, or putting aside our personal goals in support of the effort to get through this together—and we are all needed.

Best wishes for a brighter, healthier, and more peaceful New Year!
