In this workshop, the Office of Professional Development will discuss the Curriculum Vitae (CV): a professional history/job application document that is typically used when applying to academic positions (e.g., postdoctoral appointments, faculty positions). We will cover:
  • What is a CV, and how is it different from a resume?
  • When should I submit a CV?
  • How should a CV be formatted?
  • What kind of information should be on my CV?
  • What strategies can I use to communicate my skills and experience in a way that shows I am a good fit for a specific position?
  • What are some common pitfalls that people experience when creating their CV?
  • We will have plenty of time for audience Q&A - come with questions!
