What aspects of the curriculum at University of Minnesota Medical School are your favorite?
I appreciate that classes are Pass/Fail, because you still learn all the critical content, but in a less competitive and stressful atmosphere. Additionally, the hybrid nature of most classes (in-person aspects + recorded videos) allows you to have some flexibility in whether you learn better in class or on your own time.
What are your favorite things to do in Minnesota/Twin Cities area?
I love exploring new coffee shops, so if you ever need recommendations, I'm your girl. I also like to go kayaking and go to live concerts and comedy shows.
What are three adjectives you would use to describe your classmates?
I would describe my classmates as collaborative, easy-going, disciplined.
What is one of your future goals as a physician?
Before medical school, I worked aiding refugees who fled Afghanistan during the Taliban takeover. It opened my eyes to how much systemic work there is to be done and how each of us can bring our own unique tools and experiences to the table. Therefore, as a physician, I hope to be able to use my skills in times of crisis, whether that be climate disasters, global conflicts, or disease outbreaks.
