Richard Melvin, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the UMN Medical School, Duluth Campus was recently awarded $10,000 from the Sea Grant to support a summer internship that will provide a student with practical field, laboratory and informatics experience in waterborne infectious disease monitoring. The intern will conduct a public beach monitoring program under the direction of University of Minnesota Medical School and Minnesota Sea Grant scientists.
