Dr. Seaquist Named Associate Dean for Medical Specialties and Primary Care for the University of Minnesota Medical School

The University of Minnesota Medical School announced that Betsy Seaquist, MD, has been named Associate Dean for Medical Specialties and Primary Care.

Dr. Elizabeth Seaquist is the Director of the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and holds the Pennock Family Chair in Diabetes Research. As a clinical investigator, Dr. Seaquist is interested in hypoglycemia and the complications of diabetes. Her research focuses on the effect of diabetes on brain metabolism, structure, and function. Dr. Seaquist is also the principal investigator on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 Research Training Grant for fellows in endocrinology and diabetes. She has an active clinical practice and is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

She will play a key role in ensuring the Medical School has the systems and tools to meet its ambitious goals. her work will include collaborations across the medical specialty and primary care departments on strategic recruitments, research and clinical programming, as well as expanding partnerships across the Medical School and the University.
