Gov. Tim Walz Selected Dr. Becky Olson-Kellogg to Serve on the MN Board on Aging
December 4, 2020
Governor Tim Walz appointed Dr. Becky Olson-Kellogg (PT) to serve on the Minnesota Board on Aging this summer. Dr. Olson-Kellogg is Board Certified in Geriatric Physical Therapy. Governor Walz selected Dr. Olson-Kellogg based upon her years of clinical practice in the area of geriatrics, her role in developing and serving as the Director of the University of Minnesota Geriatric Clinical Residency, and her leadership roles in local, regional, and national initiatives for aging adults.
The Minnesota Board on Aging (MBA) is a 25-member, Governor-appointed Board that advises on and coordinates government plans around aging to ensure that the requirements for the Older American’s Act are met. The MBA administers state and federal funds, creates public awareness, encourages research on aging issues, and provides technical assistance and grants to local aging organizations. The MBA works to create a collective vision that represents the best interests of older Minnesotans. Their role has been especially critical during the current COVID-19 pandemic, which has disproportionately affected older Minnesotans.
