Alexander Herman, MD, PhD, in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and David Darrow, MD, MPH, in the Department of Neurosurgery, are studying hair samples from frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic to determine how their cortisol levels might correlate with their responses on a “multi-armed bandit task.”
PCOS, or polycystic ovary syndrome, remains largely undiagnosed. Sarah Hutto, MD, in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health, dedicates her instruction time with medical students and residents on how to identify early warning signs of PCOS and properly evaluate and diagnose the condition before it worsens.
The Family Medicine Student Interest Group, at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus was recognized by the American Academy of Family Physicians as the 2020 Program of Excellence for exemplary efforts to grow and support interest in family medicine practice.
