MN Frontline Healthcare Workers

Minnesota’s frontline healthcare workers faced a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) early in the pandemic. UMN dermatologist Dr. Ronda Farah and her medical student mentees James Pathoulas and Ally Fuher recruited over 50 UMN medical students to ask for PPE from local organizations. The team then partnered with Nathan Rubin, Lisa Hursin, and Molly Wyman of M Health Fairview to research the best methods of donating items like PPE to hospitals during widespread crises. Their work can help communities in future pandemics and natural disasters.
