Dr. Cresta Jones Attains Board Certification in Addiction Medicine

We are proud to recognize Dr. Jones, who recently passed her exam for addiction medicine certification. The certification is obtained through the American Board of Preventive Medicine in partnership with ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine). Physicians passing this rigorous examination are helping make evidence-based addiction prevention and treatment more readily available to patients who need it.

Dr. Jones was a recent presenter at the inaugural ASAM Women's Addiction Group National Summit on Compassionate Care in Seattle. She is currently working with Hennepin Healthcare Project ECHO on the development of the first teleconference CME programming on opioid use disorder and women's health, and she is also working with specialists at University of WI-Madison and University of Iowa to develop a midwestern research and clinical collaborative on substance use disorders in women's health. 

We look forward to Dr. Jones using this new certification to expand clinical and research work at the University of Minnesota and to further develop programming addressing substance use disorders in the years to come.
