A Whole Person Approach to Mental Health: Center for Spirituality and Healing

Mental health is not something that only happens "above the neck". Mental health disorders like anxiety, depression or ADHD affect the whole person’s health, their lifestyle and general wellbeing. The UMN Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness team strives to bring integrative or holistic strategies alongside conventional psychiatric treatments. The goal is to treat mental health symptoms and simultaneously cultivate physical and emotional wellbeing.

Dr. Zylowska will overview the Integrative Psychiatry and Wellness team’s approach. She will discuss integrative treatments such as supplements, diet modification, functional medicine, or acupuncture for mental health. She will also discuss how mindfulness, self-compassion, and positive psychology can decrease the impact of stigma found in mental illness, foster acceptance, and build resilience.

Please contact Molly Buss (bussx057@umn.edu) as far in advance as possible if you require accommodations or if you have any questions or comments.

We recommend for the best user experience that you download the Zoom desktop client or app and create a Zoom account prior to joining the webinar.
