Drs. Ryan Langlois and Michael Gale Jr. in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology spoke to the Star Tribune about their new NIH grant to study how animals fight infection.
“Is there some evolutionary innovation that has happened in some animal against some virus that we can exploit? Has evolution already created some therapy that’s way more clever than we could ever come up with?” said Dr. Langlois. “The health of people, animals and our shared environment are closely connected,” said Dr. Gale.
