The UNderstanding The experience of Ovarian cancer - Life after Diagnosis (UNTOLD) Study

About this study:
We are conducting a study to learn more about the experiences of people with ovarian cancer. We are calling this the UNTOLD (Understanding The experience of Ovarian cancer – Life after Diagnosis) study because there is a lot we do not know about ovarian cancer survivors. This research is supported by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Special Interest Project (SIP) research program.

If you have ever been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, we would appreciate your help in improving our understanding of life after an ovarian cancer diagnosis. Study participants are asked to complete a one-time survey that includes questions about your diagnosis and treatment, current health, physical, emotional and social and well-being.

Who qualifies?
Anyone over 18 years of age who has had ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer living in the United States. Materials are available in English or Spanish.

What would I have to do?
If you agree to be in this study, we would ask you to do the following:

  • Complete a survey (we expect to take 30-45 minutes). This survey includes questions related to your physical and emotional symptoms and health following treatment.
  • Optional: Complete an interview with research staff (45 minutes). If selected, we will contact you within 3 months of completing the survey to schedule a time to ask questions
about your experience following your ovarian cancer diagnosis. We will try to contact you up to 3 times to schedule this interview.
survey

If you complete the survey, you will be entered into a random drawing for a $200 gift card the week you complete the survey. A winner will be randomly chosen each week. The odds of winning are approximately 1 out of 75, depending on the number of people who complete the survey each week. If you participate in the interview, you would receive a $50 gift card.

This study will open to recruitment this summer. If you would like more information or to get notified when the survey is available, please email us at [email protected].
