The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School strives to transform women’s health through our research, education, and our patient care for all those we are privileged to serve.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to creating a rigorous learning environment that focuses on excellence in clinical care, while also fostering individual interests in basic science research, clinical research, teaching, and global health. Our program is committed to promoting social justice and health equity for all people by addressing health disparities within our communities and state.
Basic and translational research is an integral part of the work being done by our faculty and staff. Our collaborative approach to research enables clinicians and research scientists to work together on a daily basis to plan and implement research studies, and share, manage and analyze research data.
Our distinguished faculty provide a wide-range of obstetric and gynecologic services backed by the latest scientific research. We offer the latest advancements in obstetrics, midwifery, & high-risk pregnancy, well-woman and mature women's health, gynecologic cancers, minimally invasive surgery, pelvic & bladder health, reproductive health for women and girls, screening mammograms and mental health services.

Response to the incident at the 2023 ACOG Meeting
There was an incident at the most recent ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting Baltimore that I feel I must address as the Chair of this department. I will leave the video in this link to speak for itself. I have discussed this with our department leadership. We do not tolerate sexual assault, sexual harassment, or violence in any of the places we work, or from anyone in or associated with our department and we will follow the processes at the University of Minnesota regarding such incidents.
