PEERS® Social Skills Workshops at the University of Minnesota

Description of Social Skills Workshops
The University of Minnesota is pleased to offer several social skills workshops based on the evidence-based UCLA PEERS® curriculum. These workshops focus on helping participants build and maintain meaningful friendships. Instructional methods will include lectures, videos, demonstration of skills, guided practice of skills, and discussion.
This training will be led by Dr. Rebekah Hudock and Dr. Chimei Lee and their team. Drs. Hudock and Lee are pediatric neuropsychologists who specialize in serving individuals with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. They are also Certified PEERS Providers.
Workshop Topics Include:
- Making and Keeping Friends
- Conversation Skills
- Planning Get-Togethers
- Good Sportsmanship
- Handling Conflict
- Dating (Young Adult Workshop only)
What to Expect
These 2-day workshops are designed for adolescents or young adults and their caregivers. Participants will learn key PEERS skills, engage in guided practice with peers, and receive helpful resources for continued use at home.
Workshops will run from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm each day. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Location
Workshops are held at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB), located at 2025 East River Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55414. Parking is available on site.
Registration Fee
$650 per family (1 participant with 1 caregiver)
$750 per family (1 participant with 2 caregivers)
