We train the next generation of experts for Minnesota and beyond. Our psychiatry residency, psychology and psychiatry fellowships, social work, LMFT, and other graduate training programs stress integrating the genetic, experiential, and ecological factors relevant to all disorders. Learning occurs in the context of cutting-edge science, where information is critically examined in the light of new data and ideas. Effective psychiatric care requires a thorough grounding in scientific knowledge and clinical skills, cultural humility, and a dedication to interprofessionally integrated care. Throughout and across our training programs, our central aim is to impart the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a physician, psychologist, or other mental health provider to sensitively meet the needs of our patients and the various disciplines we serve.
