On behalf of Dr. Morse, we are excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Paula Ludewig, PhD, PT, FAPTA, as the Division Director of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Ludewig received her physical therapy degree from the College of St Scholastica, in Duluth MN. She received both her MA in Physical Therapy and a PhD in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa. Dr. Ludewig joined the University of Minnesota faculty in 1998. She then served as Director of Graduate Studies for the Rehabilitation Science PhD Program from 2010-2015 and as the Interim Director of the PT Division of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine since 2017. 

In addition to her tenured professor appointment in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr. Ludewig is an affiliate faculty in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Graduate Faculty in Biomedical Engineering. Paula's research, teaching, and clinical practice are in clinical biomechanics, with emphasis on prevention and rehabilitation of shoulder dysfunction.

We are thrilled to solidify this important hire for both the Division and the Department. Thank you to Dr. Ludewig for her stead-fast leadership as Interim Director, and for her patience through this process. In addition, thank you to all of the Division for your support of Dr. Ludewig during her time as interim; we know you will continue to support her as Director.
