The Global Surgery & Disparities Program welcomes our 2025 Visiting Professor, Dr. Peter Daly. Dr. Daly will present at Surgical Grand Rounds on 2/4/25. The title of his talk is "Global Surgery—Critical Factors for Program Sustainability".

Peter J. Daly, M.D. is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of One World Surgery, a nonprofit dedicated to ignite the spirit of service and transform lives by providing access to high quality surgical care globally.  A subspecialty board-certified sports medicine orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, knee, and hip conditions, he attended medical school at Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, orthopedic surgical residency at Mayo Clinic, and his Rowe shoulder and sports medicine fellowship at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Daly is in a private orthopedic practice (Summit Orthopedics, St. Paul, MN) and is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Dept of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He is the Co-Site Fellowship Director of the first Honduras International Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship program, which is a unique collaboration between the University of Minnesota Dept of Orthopedic Surgery, One World Surgery, and Summit Orthopedics.  He is a member of multiple orthopedic surgical societies.  His wife of 40 years, Florence (LuLu) Daly RN/BSN, works tirelessly with him on their passion for global surgical health.  They enjoy their four children and five grandchildren.
