
Amit Bhargava, MD, MHA, Announced as New East Bank Peri-Op Medical Director
Associate Professor in the Division of Thoracic & Foregut Surgery, Amit Bhargava, MD, MHA has agreed to take over as the East Bank Peri-op Medical Director as of February 15th.
"I am very excited to add Dr. Bhargava to our leadership team and look forward to his leadership and vision for our peri-op space," said Associate Professor of Pediatrics Sameer Gupta, MD, MBA.
Dr. Bhargava attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for his undergraduate and medical school education. He completed his general surgery residency training at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell, with a two-year research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in the Department of Surgery. Then, he completed advanced training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He spent 7 years in practice at Montefiore Medical Center before moving to the University of Minnesota in early 2018. He serves as the associate Program Director for the cardiothoracic surgery residency and co-director of the complex airway program. Dr. Bhargava completed a Masters in Healthcare Administration in December 2021 and looks forward to contributing to the ongoing success of our operating room.
