Dr. Melissa Brunsvold Elected to the Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Each year, The Academies for Excellence seeks to identify the most distinguished scientists, educators, and clinicians within our ranks. Members are elected to lifetime membership in one of four academies: scientific research, educational scholarship, clinical practice, or team science.
We are proud to share that Professor in the Division of Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery and Vice Chair for Surgery Education Melissa Brunsvold, MD, FACS, FCCM, is one of the 2024 inductees of the Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
The Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning recognizes faculty who have demonstrated exceptional scholarly contributions to advance learning in their schools and across academic programs at the University of Minnesota.
"Dr. Brunsvold's commitment to educating trainees in the General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship is unwavering and has deeply impacted the educational culture of our training programs," said Dr. Todd Costantini, Division Chief of Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery.
Dr. Brunsvold's name and photo will be added to the Academies for Excellence wall plaques in Moos Tower and a recognition event to celebrate the 2024 inductees is forthcoming.
Congratulations, Dr. Brunsvold!
