Drs. Rui Zhang and Genevieve Melton-Meaux Elected to the 2025 Class of the International Academy of Informatics Fellows
Rui Zhang, PhD, FAMIA, and Genevieve Melton-Meaux, MD, PhD, have been elected to the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics (IAHSI) 2025 Class of Fellows. IAHSI, the Academy of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), is an honor society that recognizes expertise in biomedical and health informatics internationally and is one of the highest honors in the field.
Current Fellows nominate and then elect a new class of Fellows to the Academy every year, taking into consideration their achievements, recognition, and global engagement in informatics. Drs. Zhang and Melton-Meaux were elected by the Academy along with 16 other new Fellows, all of whom have been recognized for their international and substantial achievements in the field of health informatics.
"I am deeply honored to join the 2025 Class of IAHSI Fellows and grateful to my peers for this recognition. My heartfelt thanks go to the colleagues, mentors, and collaborators who have shaped my journey. This recognition reinforces our shared responsibility to advance global health through data-driven innovation and collaborative health ecosystems. I look forward to contributing to IAHSI's mission and engaging with fellow Fellows to shape the future of health informatics and artificial intelligence worldwide," said Dr. Zhang.
On August 10, 2025, the IAHSI Fellows will gather for their annual plenary session in Taipei at MedInfo 2025, IMIA's biennial World Congress on Medical and Health Informatics.
