Dr. Elliot Arsoniadis, an assistant professor in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, was recently featured on the 13th episode of the Going Viral – No One Should Die From Embarrassment podcast.

Sponsored by the International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS), this episode highlights Dr. Arsoniadis’ nonprofit, Save The Bottoms. The nonprofit's mission is to promote anal cancer awareness and prevention, especially within the LGBTQ+ community.

With a background in colorectal surgery and health informatics, and a deep passion for inclusive prevention efforts, Dr. Arsoniadis accomplished something unprecedented at Twin Cities Pride in 2023: on-site self-screening for anal pre-cancer and cancer. Following his presentation on the event’s success at Grand Rounds, his efforts gained institutional support through collaborations with the Masonic Cancer Center and the Randy Shaver Research and Community Fund.

Dr. Arsoniadis leverages technology and social media to reach underserved communities across Minnesota. Through partnerships with community influencers, Save The Bottoms has been able to break barriers and normalize conversations around anal health.
