Paolo Goffredo, MD, Awarded SSAT International Junior Surgeon Travel Exchange Fellowship

The Department of Surgery is proud to announce that Paolo Goffredo, MD, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 International Junior Surgeon Travel Exchange Fellowship from the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT). This highly competitive fellowship recognizes young surgeons making significant strides in the field of alimentary surgery. After a thorough review of all submitted proposals, Dr. Goffredo's application was selected from an impressive pool of candidates.

As part of the fellowship, Dr. Goffredo will spend two to three weeks at the University of Southampton in England. He will work alongside Dr. Nigel D'Souza, a leading expert in colorectal screening and detection.

During his visit, Dr. Goffredo will engage with innovative practices in colorectal surgery and share insights from his experiences at our institution.

Dr. Goffredo will also participate in Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2025 in San Diego, where he will present on a panel, share his experiences through a podcast interview, and provide a detailed summary of his fellowship journey.
