Three members of the Department of Surgery's Surgery Grants & Contracts (SGC) team, Hang McLaughlin, Sarah Nelson, and Mellani Lubuag, recently attended the NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators) Region IV conference in Chicago.

Mellani Lubuag was recognized for her leadership as a newly elected regional board member and helped welcome new attendees at the newcomers' reception. She and Sarah Nelson co-presented a session titled "Collaboration and Coordination: Managing T32 Development Through Pre and Early Post-Award Phases."

Hang McLaughlin led two workshops, "Introduction to Research Administration" and "Pre-Award Basics," and also gave a talk titled "It's Fine, Everything's Fine … Workload Assessment From Your Own Perspective." She served as volunteer coordinator for the conference and concluded her two-year term as a regional board member.

We're proud of the SGC team for sharing their expertise and representing the department at the conference.
