Surgical Oncology Health Services Research Group
The Surgical Oncology Health Services Research Group encompasses a variety of research questions and interventions across a wide range of malignant and pre-malignant diagnoses. Investigators from the Division of Surgical Oncology lead the efforts alongside co-investigators, collaborators, and trainees. Our team regularly collaborates with the Department of Surgery’s Center for Clinical Quality and Outcomes Discovery and Evaluation (C-QODE).
Studies are translational in nature, often beginning with internal and national database analyses to guide targeted interventions to improve cancer screening and surgical cancer care. One point of emphasis is health care disparities in screening and access to care, and our group is heavily involved in research and clinical care provided through the Global Surgery & Disparities Program (GSDP).
