3/9/2021 - Pets Remembered Cremation Service

3 Roles in One for Creative, Caring Cremation Operator $17/hr start, $22/hr after 6 months + health insurance + cell phone subsidy

-- - - - - - - - - - -
We are Pets Remembered Cremation Service, located in New Brighton. We are trying to find you if you are a creative, caring, person who would like to work with us as we serve families who have experienced the death of their pet and ask us for help in cremating the pet they love. We are well-known because many practicing veterinarians recommend us highly to their clients and a very large number of our past customers have been customers more than once which means they think highly of us too. Why do both veterinarians and our past customers recommend us to others? Because they can tell that we care because we work in service to other people who have had a beloved pet die. We provide a service that is needed and much of our self-fulfillment in life comes from helping others.

Your role with us would involve three activities:

1. Driving to pick up deceased pets from pet owner’s homes or from veterinary clinics, and subsequently delivering the cremated ashes of those pets back to those locations;

2. Meeting and talking with pet owners about how we can be of service to them—they will have called us to seek out our services; or they have driven up to our front door with their deceased pet seeking the help they are confidence we can provide. Also, meeting and talking with veterinarians and their employee vet techs because often they are the conduit through which a client family discovers who we are.

3. This is the role that creates the most important endearing and long-lasting touchpoints between our business and our pet owner clients: Operating the cremation machine to cremate pets and placing those cremated ashes into urns as the memorial of the pet for pet owners. You would also be using some of your own creativity in creating mementos for pet owners to have: Making ink paw prints of their pet and making imprints of their pet’s paw in clay.

We will teach you everything you need to know, and work alongside you to make sure you feel comfortable with working with the new knowledge and skills you will come to have.

Although you would be paid hourly, the first six months of employment we would guarantee you a minimum of 30 hours of work per week. Those hours may be spread across all seven days of the week—we are open seven days per week), and the work hours may be spread across a large number of hours per day—as early as 6a; as late as 10p, but with the understanding that the death of a pet can occur at any time of day, but we set boundaries about when we are available to serve clients. We, as a team, realize each of us needs a little time off to regenerate ourselves. Additional work hours will come from filling in for other employees who are on vacation, want other time off, or are sick on a particular day, and on federal holidays (paid double-time) including many times the day before and the day after those holidays. You also need to be able to lift 85 pounds.

Starting pay is $17 per hour, and will rise to $22 per hour over the course of six months as you begin to demonstrate your ability to act in each of the three roles with confidence and competence. We also provide you with health insurance coverage scaled by the number of hours you work each week. Also, we provide a $10 per payroll period (once every two weeks) subsidy for your cell phone because you must have a cell phone so we can communicate with you.

If you would find fulfillment in helping families whose pet has died and you can look into their eyes and sincerely say you want to help them, then we would like to hear from you. Please send us your resume at the following email address: bruce@petsrememberedmn.com. Please include a cover letter if you think that would help us better understand how and why you believe you would want to work with us and the families we serve.

Assuming we receive a fairly large number of resumes, it will take us about five days to respond to those we would like to interview. To begin, we will have telephone interviews with approximately 8-10 applicants by phone, using that process to determine the remaining 4-5 people to interview in person.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Anyone who has an interest and desire to serve families who have experienced the death of a beloved pet.

$17/hr start, $22/hr after 6 months + health insurance + cell phone subsidy; a minimum of 30 hours of work per week guaranteed for the first 6 months of employment.
